Halloween Merchandise popping up

The Halloween fun is starting! So far I have seen Fall decor at Hobby Lobby, as well as Halloween decor at the Dollar Tree and lots and lots of decor, crafts, and props starting to make their way onto the shelves at Michaels.

I am told that Pier 1 has some Fall items trickling in and they expect more to become available by August 5th.

In addition I talked to the manager at Walgreens and she said they usually start stocking their shelves late in August.
Finally, Goodwill has some Halloween items mixed in wit their regular stuff, but you have to hunt for them. I have gotten lucky and landed a few great finds such as my Gemmy Industries Haunted Witch mirror for less than $3!
Don't expect to see much on the shelves though until after Labor Day and once they have cleared out some more of their Christmas items via the "Christmas in July" promo.

I will  post more sightings here as I find them!

101 Days until Halloween. Looking for other "home haunters" in Phoenix!

So the countdown begins and I have officially begun to collect new tricks and treats for this years festivities.
Home haunting has always been a hobby of mine. When I was a little girl I would create tombstones out of poster board, cardboard boxes and magic markers. My Dad was a Halloween enthusiast and encouraged my crafts, even when it meant I was stealing his flannels and jeans to stuff as part of a dead body prop.
Now with three kids of my own, I still love Halloween and am always on the hunt for new trinkets, spooks, and goblins to join my yard haunt.
In comparison to many home haunters out there I am still just an amateur, never the less I enjoy being one of the scary houses in the neighborhood and all of the laughs, screams, and thrills that follow.

I am located in North Phoenix and am looking for other Halloween enthusiasts who would like to have their home haunts or decor recognized here on the blog. I am also going to create a page listing homes if anyone is interested. This can be a great way to attract people to your home haunt if perhaps you are in a neighborhood that does not get much in the way of trick or treaters.

Please feel free to comment here on the blog or email me at thehalloweenchick at gmail  and include your info and images of your haunts from years past.

I look forward to spreading the Halloween fear ....
